Project Overview
The East Coast Railway (ECR), currently under construction, spans approximately 665 kilometers and connects Malaysia's east and west coasts across four states. It is a flagship project for high-quality joint Belt and Road Initiative efforts between China and Malaysia and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Construction is being undertaken by China Communications Construction Group Co., Ltd. (CCCC). Starting in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, and ending in Port Klang, Selangor, the ECR will become a major transportation artery between the east and west coasts.
